The following are powerful words left behind by the very famous inventor of Critical Illness Insurance, Dr. Marius Barnard, who passed away On November 14, 2014. He left a legacy of critical illness insurance in addition to all the wonderful heart surgeries he performed on hundreds if not thousands of people. His legacy of CI has helped many people avoid the financial hardship in the face of critical illness.

“I was used to operating on people and boasting about my great results of patients surviving five or six years. But all of sudden I saw the social and financial implications. I knew nothing about insurance but I knew life insurance paid out on the diagnosis of death. But to me, my patients lived for years but in this time they died financially.”

-Dr. Marius Barnard
